Tsukioka Yoshitoshi (1839-1892) was an Ukiyoe painter who played an active part in the era of rapid change from the Edo to Meiji periods. He is known as “The last Ukiyo-e artist” due to his being the most prominent painter at the time when demand for Ukiyo-e greatly diminished, and has continued to fascinate people through the ages. With around 200 pieces from a wide range of genres such as historical paintings and narrative pictures, you can enjoy his youthful skill and rich imagination.
